Payment Methods
Rodavia connects you with local suppliers across Mauritius. The payment structure reflects this: you secure the booking online with an advance, then settle the balance directly with the rental company according to the terms printed in your voucher.
Booking Advance
When you confirm a reservation through our platform, you pay a portion of the total amount online. This advance is processed via secure gateway and accepts international credit cards.

Debit cards are not universally supported by the online gateway; if your card is declined, use a credit card or contact us at [email protected] for alternatives.
Balance and Deposit at the Counter
Your voucher specifies what remains due when you collect the vehicle and whether the supplier requires a deposit hold. Each rental company sets its own policies.
Accepted methods on-site typically include:
- Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard)
- Debit cards - policies vary; some suppliers accept them for balance payment but not for deposit authorisation
- Cash (Mauritian rupee) - check your voucher; not all operators handle cash transactions
The deposit is an authorisation hold on your card, released after the vehicle is returned without damage or traffic fines. If your card lacks sufficient limit for the hold, ask the supplier about alternative arrangements before your pick-up date.
Currency and Invoicing
Online transactions are billed in the currency displayed at checkout. The balance due at the counter is usually shown in Mauritian rupees on the voucher, though some suppliers will quote in euros or US dollars.
Banks apply their own exchange rates and may add foreign-transaction fees. If you need a tax invoice for the advance payment, email [email protected] with your booking reference after confirmation.
